AZERBAIJANI ECONOMY MINISTER OPTIMISTIC ABOUT AZERBAIJAN`S ECONOMIC EXPANSION
Baku, January 18 (AzerTAc). Despite the ongoing economic recession in the world`s
leading countries, Azerbaijani economy continues to develop, Azerbaijani Economic
Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev said on January 16 at the Cabinet`s Meeting
on the results of the socio-economic development in 2008.
According to him, Azerbaijani economy has grown 2.6-fold since 2003 while the growth
in US was 13.3%, EU 13.7%, CIS countries 45.4%, China 66.5%.
The share of private sector in GDP was 84.5% in 2008. GDP grew 10.8% in 2008. Per
capita GDP rose five-fold to 4,440 manats.
