AZERBAIJAN NATIONAL BANK CHIEF TARGETS SINGLE-DIGIT INFLATION IN 2009
Baku, January 18 (AzerTAc). It is possible to meet the goal of a single-digit
inflation in 2009, chairman of the Azerbaijan National Bank`s Board Elman Rustamov
said.
Rustamov noted the country was well-prepared for the global financial crisis.
According to international organizations, Azerbaijan is one of a few countries to
weather the ongoing financial turmoil. Successful implementation of the oil strategy
allowed forming the “security cushion”. The cushion is enough to maintain financial
and fiscal stability for the mid-term outlook.
