Palestinian Ambassador hails UAE's role in supporting victims of Israeli aggression
Abu Dhabi, Jan 20, 2009 (WAM) - Palestinian Ambassador to UAE Dr Khaire Al Oraidi hailed the humanitarian stance of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, especially his continuous initiatives to help the people of Palestine who are facing harsh humanitarian situations.
At a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Ka'abi, Al Oraidi expressed the appreciation of the Palestinian people of the humanitarian efforts UAE has spent to improve the living conditions in Gaza Strip, which has been damaged substantially in the war.
Assistant Secretary General for Relief and Projects of RCA Saleem Hamad Al Junaibi was present at the meeting held at the RCA headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Al Oraidi lauded the vital role of UAE in drumming up support for the victims of aggression on Gaza. UAE has become a strong support for the people of Palestine and a paramount source of help in the dire humanitarian conditions in Palestine. UAE was one of the first to respond to the call for help raised from Palestine, the ambassador said.
In the meeting, they discussed the situation in Gaza and the enormous human and material loss caused by the war and the destruction of the infrastructure and vital installations there
