Laos, Thailand to further address illegal migration and Labour

(KPL) The foreign ministers of Laos and Thailand have agreed to further their efforts in dealing with issues relating border demarcation, illegal migration and Labour.
The agreement on those issues was reached at the bilateral meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith and his Thai counterpart Mr. Kasit Piromya at the International Cooperation and Training Centre.
Both sides have agreed to open for public use of railway between Vientiane in Laos and Nongkhai in Thailand in Mach this year. They have also agreed to create favorable condition for the communication linkage between the two countries, which will also contribute to the transport infrastructure development in the region.
The Lao and Thai ministers also expressed that it was necessary to construct the third international Mekong bridge between Khammouane province of Laos and Nakhonphanom of Thailand.
They have said that the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the bridge would take place in the next two months.
During the visit to Laos the Thai foreign minister also said that the Thai government had agreed to provide 1.5 million Thai baht as a grant to the government of Laos for constructing a dispensary for servicing hmong people repatriated from Thailand.
