AZERBAIJANI MILITARIES TO ATTEND NATO TRAININGS
Baku, 19 January (AzerTAc). Capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, on January 19-23 will host planning conference of Cooperative Longbow / Lancer 2009 military exercises under the NATO’s Partnership for Peace program, press service of Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense told AzerTAc.
Following the PfP program, on January 21-22 the city of Oberammergau (Germany) will
host a symposium. Also preliminary planning conferences of Cooperative Mako 2009 and
Cooperative Marlin 2009 exercises will take place at the Aksaz-Karaakaj base of
Turkey’s Naval Forces between January 26 and 30.
The Program also includes training courses on fighting terrorism to be held between
January 19 and 23 in Ankara and courses for staff officers due in Sarajevo between
January 19 and February 20. Also the capital of Estonia, Tallinn, will host Combined
Endeavour 2009 preliminary planning conference on January 20-23.
Following the Program signed between NATO and Azerbaijan, representatives of
Azerbaijan Armed Forces are expected to attend the events.
