Russian President, King of Bahrain to discuss struggle with international terrorism

MOSCOW, September 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa meet in Moscow on Tuesday to discuss bilateral cooperation, a range of international issues and struggle with international terrorism, the Kremlin press service said. "On September 6, talks between President Vladimir Putin and King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa of Bahrain, who is expected to arrive in Russia, will take place," the report said. The sides have scheduled an exchange of opinion on pressing aspects of the current situation in the Middle East and North Africa, especially in the context of struggle with international terrorism. Also, they will take up the key issues of Russian-Bahraini cooperation, with an emphasis on the implementation of agreements reached at the February meeting of the Russian President and the King of Bahrain in Sochi. Prospects for trade and economic cooperation will receive priority attention, the press service said. At the outcome of the talks, the two sides plan signing a package of bilateral documents. The previous meeting took place in February during the king's working visit to Moscow. The sides agreed then to design new mechanisms of cooperation in spite of problems in the economy. At present, Russia and Bahrain are implementing about twenty projects to the tune of several billion rubles. They are eyeing cooperation in the gas industry. Read more
