Third Katara European Jazz Festival to Kick Off in November

Doha, September 21 (QNA) - Stemming from its strategy of bringing cultures together, the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara has inked cooperation agreement with the representatives of nine embassies in Doha in a bid to host the third edition of Katara- European Jazz Festival 2016. The third edition of the popular annual event Katara European Jazz festival will start on the second of November and will continue until the 7th of the same month at building 5 in the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara. This was announced on Tuesday during a press conference jointly organized by Katara in partnership with the embassies of France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy along with embassies with the embassies of Portugal, Poland, and Bulgaria which are participating for the first time. Addressing attendees during a press conference, the General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti said, "Following the spectacular success that has been achieved in the previous editions of Katara- European Jazz festival, today we continue at boosting our cooperation to present the third edition of this festival." Speaking on the occasion, Kataras General Manager said: "We exude hope that this year edition will grab a significant turnout of attendees similar other events that have been hosted and organized by the Cultural Village. Hosting similar events stresses Kataras vision of bringing cultures together." He added. Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti stated: "as we all know, music is an international genre that captivates different human senses and feelings, therefore, Katara as a cultural hub works to offer all kind of musical culture as boundless human language to boost cultural ties and promote cultural partnerships." The General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara exuded gratitude for the embassies continuous contribution and effective cooperation, and for Qatar Airways and has been quoted as saying: "we are confident that the festival will thrive success achieving cultural and artistic objectives desired." Hailing the role of Cultural Village Foundation-Katara at exerting the utmost efforts at hosting and organizing such a grand event that had attracted a big turnout of people from all walks of life during the last two editions. For their parts, the envoys of European countries to Doha, pointed out that this year edition of the festival is extraordinary in terms of the number of participating countries and the significant participation of the renowned international bands such as: "Atom String Quartet", "Three Fall" along with many other bands that will rock Kataras stage for the week-long event. It is noteworthy that the 3rd edition of Katara European Jazz Festival will bring to Doha one jazz group representing each of the participating countries, comprising various evening events performed by the Jazz musicians as well as several workshops at Qatar Music Academy with local music students.
