BABY WHALE FOUND BEACHED AT PANTAI BATU BUROK

KUALA TERENGGANU (Malaysia), Jan 21 (Bernama) -- A baby whale with
injuries on its underside was found beached at the Pantai (Coast) Batu
Burok here Tuesday night.

A fisheries department spokesman said the discovery was made by petty
traders operating there at about 8.30pm.

"They tried to push it back into the sea but were unsuccessful," he told
reporters at the scene.

He said when found, it was alive but died at about 10.30 pm.

He added that the carcass would be brought to the department's office for a
post-mortem.
