M'SIAN PM VISITS QATAR'S ISLAMIC ARTS MUSEUM

DOHA, Jan 22 (Bernama) - Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Wednesday
ended his two-day official trip to Qatar with a visit to the Islamic Arts
Museum here.

He and his wife Jeanne Abdullah accompanied by Foreign Minister Dr Rais
Yatim and several Cabinet ministers spent about an hour at the museum.

Abdullah showed a keen interest on the various artifacts on display which
came from Islamic countries like Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Qatar itself. Among the
exhibits included a handwritten Quran and other works of art produced around the
16th century.

Earlier, Abdullah had called on the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa
Al-Thani and discussed various matters which touched on bilateral ties,
international issues and those of common interest.

Abdullah and the delegation then left Qatar to begin an official visit to
the United Arab Emirates, his last stop on his series of visits to Gulf
countries which began on Jan 18. Before Qatar he had visited Bahrain.
