Lao artists performs traditional music and dance in Tokyo
(KPL) Eighteen traditional performing artists and two officials of Laos, who visited Japan from January 15th to 22nd showed the traditional music and dance (Fon Xeung Sieng Khen) at the opening ceremony of Mekong-Japan Exchange Year 2009 in Tokyo with other performers from the Mekong countries on 20th.
According to the source from Japanese embassy, while in Japan they also paid courtesy visit on Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had friendship programs with Japanese counterparts.
It is very much hoped that Lao delegation take full advantage of the exchange programme for their future career and ultimately further strengthen relations among Mekong Region and Japan through newly-built friendship that goes beyond languages and differences.
The Lao delegates who spent 8-day visit in Japan, Tokyo and Hyogo prefecture, under the Japan East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) short-term programme together with the other delegates from neighboring countries, departed Tokyo for Vientiane on January 22nd, 2009.
