Malaysia's Kedah Immigration Detains 15 Undocumented Thais

ALOR SETAR (Kedah, Malaysia), Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia's Kedah Immigration Department detained 15 undocumented Thais in a raid, 'Op Ikrar' at three separate restaurants around Alor Setar (Kedah's capital city) on Sunday. State Immigration Enforcement chief Mohd Shahrir Khalil said 10 men and five women aged between 20 and 40 were nabbed in the 6.25pm operation. "We screened 33 foreigners and detained the 15 for misusing their pass under Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963," he said in a statement on Tuesday. He said the 15 were being held at the Immigration lockup in the Home Ministry building here for investigation and further action before being referred to the Immigration detention depot in Belantik, Sik. --BERNAMA
