MyCARE To Send Humanitarian Aid To Iraq

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCare) will send a humanitarian mission to Iraq next month to help the country's refugees cope with the cold bitter winter. MyCARE Board of Trustees member, Dr Fauziah Mohd Hassan (pix) said the mission would be handing over aid including heaters, clothes and food worth US$55,113 (RM242,500). "The mission to be led by MyCARE Board of Trustees member Dr Mohd Tahir Abdul Rahman will include finance manager Muhammad Hariz Hermansah, MyCARE activist Ahmad Khairuddin Hasim, Iraqian NGO representative in Malaysia Ahmad Janabi and media representatives," she told reporters after launching the 2016 Winter Relief campaign here Wednesday. The 2016 Winter Relief campaign is expected to raise about US$454,540 (RM2 million) to help at least 15,000 Palestinian, Syrian and Iraqian nationals especially those seeking shelter in refugee camps during this winter.
