Indonesia Accompanies Thailand To Semi Finals

From Mazani Mohd Yusoff YANGON, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- Four time semi finalists, Indonesia bounced back to beat Singapore 2-1 in the final Group A match at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, the Philippines Friday night. The victory saw the Garuda squad accompanied Group A winner, Thailand who edged co host, the Philippines 1-0 in another match at the Philippines sports stadium in Bulacan via Sarawut Masuk's strike in the 81st minute. In the match in Manila, Singapore, the four time winner of the tournament, drew the first blood through Muhammad Khairul Amri Muhammad Kamal's spectacular volley in the 27th minute. Indonesia, however struck twice in the second half of the match through Andik Vermansah in the 62nd minute and Stefano Lilipaly in the 81st minute to seal the semi finals spot. Indonesia will meet Group B winner, Vietnam in the semi finals which uses the home and away match format on Dec 3 and Dec 7.
