MRCF donates medicines, medical equipment to Gaza hospitals

Dubai, Jan 25, 2009 (WAM) - The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity Foundation (MRCH) has donated a large quantity of medicines and surgery-related medical equipment to hospitals and patients in Gaza as part of the foundation's campaign to reach out to Palestinians wounded during the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza.

According to deputy chairman of the MRCH Board of Trustees, Ibrahim Bu-Melha, the foundation distributed 34 types of medicines in high demand for various kinds of surgery operations and for patients who underwent such operations, adding that the foundation had also distributed some medical equipment to hospitals in Gaza, including 10 special beds for intensive care unit, cardiac defibrillators, heart beat monitoring equipment and many others.

Meanwhile, the foundation has also distributed personal hygiene bags to 2,000 families sheltered in UNRWA-run schools. A bag, which can cater for a family of 7 - 10 for two weeks, at least, contains basic sanitation items, in addition to children's blanket and baby diapers.

The foundation also distributed baby milk to more than 30,000 babies.
