Meeting of Movement for Supporting Korea's Reunification Held in Japan

Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The 34th national meeting of the movement for supporting Korea's reunification took place in Nagano of Japan on November 19. After congratulatory speeches, a message of greetings from the Korean Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries was read out at the meeting. Kenji Mizutani, general secretary of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, made a keynote report. He exposed the injustice and illegality of the anti-DPRK campaign conducted by the US, Japan and south Korea and of the UN Security Council's "resolutions on sanctions" against the DPRK. He stressed the need to strengthen solidarity with the Korean people and conduct vigorous activities supporting the friendship between the two countries and the reunification of Korea. The meeting adopted an appeal sharply denouncing the anti-DPRK moves of the U.S., Japan and south Korea and demanding the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, the conclusion of DPRK-U.S. peace accord and the normalization of Japan-DPRK diplomatic relations. In the meantime, an event was held on Nov. 18-19 to mark the 40th anniversary of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea. -0-
