Emirates Medical Association to send 117 medics to Gaza
Abu Dhabi, Jan 27, 2009 (WAM) - The Emirates Medical Association (EMA) presented today to the Red Crescent Authority (RCA) the list of 117 medics and Para-medics who will volunteer to help the Palestinian victims of Israeli aggression on Gaza.
The team of specialist doctors and technicians will join RCA on ground in Gaza to treat the wounded men, women and children struggling at various medical centres and makeshift camps in the Strip that turned into a wasteland in the wanton pounding by Israeli army.
Meanwhile, sources in Gaza reported the death of a Palestinian who was struggling for life after he inhaled a poisonous gas sprayed by Israeli army during the war.
The doctors and Para medics who expressed their desire to volunteer in Gaza are doing so out of their pure humanitarian spirit, said Dr. Ali Al Numairi, President of the EMA.
Emirates Medical Association was established in the year 1980 as a non-for-profit organization, consisting of doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists who have a scientific certificate in medicine and Surgery. A total of 3400 members are registered currently in the association.
