Pengerang Marine Police Intercept 37 Indonesians Without Documents
JOHOR BAHRU (Johor, Malaysia) Dec 13 (Bernama) -- Pengerang Marine police intercepted 37 Indonesians without travel documents who tried to leave the country via an illegal route here, Tuesday.
Marine Police Region 2 deputy commander, Shaari Arifin said the suspects aged between 10 and 50 years comprising 28 men, eight women and one child were nabbed at five different locations at Pantai Pulai Hijau, Kota Tinggi, Johor between 2am and 4am.
"They were hiding in the jungle while waiting for a boat to transport them back to their country of origin.
"During the inspection, they were found without any valid travel documents," he said in a statement here, Tuesday.
He said marine police would continue their surveillance and operation to track down the mastermind and the boat skipper responsible in smuggling undocumented foreigners though the illegal route.
