No FaceJapan Has to Talk about Women's "Rights": Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- The chief executive of Japan likes to talk about the building of a "society where women are active" quite often. According to his assertion, the Diet adopted legislation on promoting women's activities the keynote of which calls on big businesses, state and local bodies to make it compulsory to assign posts to women and the Cabinet created a new post of minister for women's affairs. He talked nonsense at the UN that "he would make the 21st century a world free from human rights abuses against women". In this regard, Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a commentary says: What matters is that the chief executive's loudmouthed guarantee of women's rights is quite contrary to the realities in Japan. At a recent meeting of the UN human Rights Council, an expert on human rights issue disclosed that sexual abuses against girl students of secondary and senior high schools are serious in Japan. It is a matter of serious concern that women's ill-treatment and the tendency of despising women widespread in Japan are committed at the tacit connivance of the authorities and with their backing. The Japanese government is making desperate efforts to cover up the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army, a hideous crime unprecedented in history, with a petty amount of money in collusion with the Park Geun Hye group of south Korea steeped in sycophancy and treachery to the marrow of their bones. Its ulterior aim is to realize its ambition for staging a comeback to Korea at any cost. The ruling quarters of Japan had better properly redress the crimes related to the sexual slavery. -0-
