SEPANG (Selangor, Malaysia) Dec 15 (Bernama) -- Sri Lanka's President Maithripala Sirisena arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here Thursday to begin his maiden visit to Malaysia. The president was received by Human Resources Minister Richard Riot upon his arrival at 2 pm and was accorded a red carpet welcome and inspected a guard of honour mounted by the First Battalion Royal Ranger Regiment. The three-day visit will be the president's inaugural visit to Malaysia since assuming the post in January last year. The official welcoming ceremony will be held at Perdana Square, Putrajaya Friday. Wisma Putra, in a statement, said the Sri Lankan president and Prime Minister Najib Razak would hold a bilateral meeting that will provide opportunities for both sides to review existing relations and cooperation as well as identify potential areas for future collaboration. Five memorandum of understanding would be concluded between the two countries covering the areas of tourism, youth development, culture, arts and heritage, foreign workers as well as scientific and technical cooperation, it said.
