Solidarity Walk Against Violence In Syria

IPOH (Perak, Malaysia) Dec 19 (Bernama) -- More than 200 people joined the Solidarity Walk organised by Perak Aman Palestine and the Ipoh branch of Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (ISMA) to protest against the carnage in Aleppo, Syria. Perak Aman Palestine manager Khairul Amin Ibrahim said the event was a continuation of the protest that was carried out in front of the Russian embassy on Friday. "We are gathered here today to call upon the residents of this city to join hands in sending a message of brotherhood to the Muslims oppressed in Palestine and Syria, as well as the Rohingyas (in the Rakhine region, Myanmar)." He said this at the event in support of oppressed Palestinians, Syrians and Rohingyas at Jalan Raja Dihilir, held in conjunction with the Car-free Day programme, here, Sunday. He added that a mini forum was also held to share with the public the atrocities occurring in some Muslim countries. Meanwhile, Ipoh ISMA representative, Syed Salahuddin Syed Ayob commended the participants of the solidarity walk, showing that the people of this country are united in their support against atrocities towards mankind and against human rights violations. "Oppression by the major forces against those not involved in the war is extreme savagery that is totally unacceptable," he said. -- BERNAMA
