TAT:Thai tourism is welcome to all

BANGKOK, January 11 (TNA) - The state-run Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is moving forward to materialise its policy on "tourism for all", including persons with hearing disabilities. As part of the move, TAT Deputy Governor Chatthan Kunchorn Na Ayudhaya, who supervises marketing communications, on Wednesday chaired a ceremony to present a VDO to introduce Thai tourist destinations nationwide with subtitles in the sign language to Setsatian School for the Deaf and library networks of other schools for persons with hearing disabilities. Chatthan said the move is aimed to provide knowledge and inspire persons with hearing disabilities to travel, like their physically-abled fellows, in order to stimulate domestic tourism through all groups, noting that the hearing and visually- impaired alone account for over one million of the total Thai population. A high school female student told reporters that the video should create more confidence and positive inspiration for persons with hearing disabilities, including her, to travel more and to post photos taken at tourist destinations on Facebook and Instagram to share with friends.
