Bahrain-UK ties hailed

Manama, Jan. 12 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan today met UK Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Simon Martin. The minister commended the advanced level of the bilateral ties in various fields, expressing Bahrain's aspiration to bolster these ties at all levels. The minister valued the role of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), in developing labour regulations within the frame of the joint programme between the Ministry of Labour and Social Development and the embassy. Humaidan lauded the British expertise useful to develop NGOs projects through community partnership which will help achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The ambassador affirmed his country's keenness on boosting its ties with Bahrain extending over the centuries noting the compatibility of both countries on issues of shared interest. He lauded Bahrain's political and economic progress in line with the reforms led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as well as the accomplishments in the areas of civil society organisations, labour and social welfare.
