Speaker receives Yemeni lawmaker

Manama, Jan. 17 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla stressed the need to boost efforts to defend Arab issues and ensure security and stability in the Arab countries. He lauded the efforts of the Arab Parliament to rally ranks and promote cooperation between the Arab parliaments regarding various issues. The Representatives Council Speaker was speaking as he received today Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament MP Adel Abdulrahman Al Asoumi who introduced to him member of the Yemeni parliament Dr. Saleh Mohammed Ba'asher on the occasion of his official visit to Bahrain. Al Mulla expressed deep thanks and appreciation of the efforts of Speaker of the Arab Parliament Dr. Mesha'al bin Fahm Al Salmi and members in serving Arab issues and providing a legislative system that achieves the prosperity of the Arab peoples. The Representatives Council Speaker reiterated Bahrain's unwavering stance in supporting legitimacy in Yemen, pointing out that Bahrain's participation in the Saudi-led Arab coalition to restore security and stability to Yemen is a duty dictated by the inherent Arab identity. On his part, the Yemeni MP underscored support of the Arab Parliament to Bahrain in regional and international gatherings so as to achieve the aspirations of the Bahraini people and protect their sovereignty.
