Malaysia's Perlis State Launches Latest Ecotourism Two-In-One Homestay Package

KANGAR (Perlis, Malaysia), Jan 18 (Bernama) -- Perlis' latest launch of the ecotourism product - Ecotourism Package and Perlis-Satun Homestay Package, Thailand - is expected to boost the state's tourism industry. Tourism Malaysia deputy director-general Chong Yoke Har said the 'two- in-one' product was aimed at promoting the benefits of a homestay vacation experience between the two countries in conjunction with Visit ASEAN Year 2017 through a single package. She said the package was the result of a smart partnership between the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority; Tourism and Culture Ministry, Perlis Office; Perlis Economic Planning Unit; and the Administrative Division of Satun Province, Thailand. "The idea of this cooperation and collaboration package is a wise step. I am sure the tourism sectors in Malaysia and Thailand will grow with the increasing number of tourist arrivals and economic spin-offs," Chong said. -- BERNAMA
