Laos, Kuwait reach mutual cooperation

(KPL) Laos and Kuwait have signed memorandums of understanding on exchanging labourers, establishment of embassies and facilitation of aviation services.
The MoU was made during an official working visit to the State of Kuwait by Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh and his entourage between 27-29 January.
PM Bouasone Bouphavanh and his entourage arrived Kuwait on 27 January, in response to the invitation of Prime Minister Shelkh Nasser Al Mohmmed Al-Ahmmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of the State of Kuwait.
At the Bayan Palace, Prime Minister Bouasone met his Kuwaiti counterpart Shelkh Nasser Al Mohmmed Al-Ahmmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah where two sides discussed mutual cooperation and agreed to cooperate in agriculture, industry, trade and tourism. PM Bouasone also attended an official inauguration of Lao Embassy in Kuwait.
Laos and Kuwait established diplomatic relation in 2008, during an official visit to Laos by the Prime Minister of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmad Al-jaber Al-sabah and his delegation between 5-6 August.
This was a historic visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser, and a significant milestone in efforts to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between the two nations.
It also increases solidarity, understanding and cooperation between the countries.
The two prime ministers expressed satisfaction about the relationship between Laos and Kuwait and the trust which has been built between the two countries and peoples. They highly valued the fruitful results of assistance provided on each side and the benefits these efforts have created.
The two leaders stressed the need to increase cooperation at bilateral and multilateral level for mutual benefit.
Both sides signed four agreements and two memorandums of understanding (MOUs), which were agreements on: trade, economic and technical cooperation, the encouragement and reciprocal protection of investment, the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital.
They signed two MOUs on conducting bilateral consultation, and on civil and aviation cooperation.
Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser and his delegation paid a courtesy visit to President Choummaly Sayasone at the Presidential Palace.
Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser conveyed an invitation from Kuwait ‘s King to President Choummaly to pay an official visit to Kuwait . Kuwait is situated northeast of Saudi Arabia at the northern end of the Persian Gulf, south of Iraq, and has a population of just over 2.5 million. The country covers just 17.819 square kilimetres of land, mostly desert, which is rice in oil.
It has a GDP of US$130.1 billion and a per capita average income of US$39.300.
