NEW BUILDING OF ISLAMIC CULTURAL CENTER OPENED IN MOSCOW

Baku, 30 January (AzerTAc). Inauguration of a new building of Russian Islamic Cultural Center was held in Moscow. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Muslim communities of Russia, well-known politicians and diplomatic corpses. The inauguration was kicked off by Head of the Russian Council of Muftis sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. In his opening address Gaynutdin said that both Moscow government and
Federal authorities care for Russian Muslims, support them and do their best to meet spiritual demands of different peoples and religions of Russia.
The Head of Russian Muslims congratulated all Orthodox believers on the appointment of Metropolitan Cyril Patriarchy of Moscow and All Russia.
As Abdul-Vakhed Niyazov, Head of the Islamic Cultural Center of Russia underscored, Moscow has five Mosques and the largest Muslim population than any city in Russia has.
According to the recent decree of the Moscow city government, Cathedral Mosque will be reconstructed and enlarged ten times. Also under construction are Eastern Humanitarian Center, Institute of Islamic Civilization, Islamic World TV and Broadcasting Company and other organizations.
Addressing the ceremony Ambassador of Azerbaijan to RF Polad Bulbuloglu stressed that “though many countries unfortunately associate Islam with extremism and aggression, these actions should not be linked with the Islamic religion, and it is very important that Russia gives impetus to the Islamic Cultural Center”.
