PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV PARTICIPATES IN FORUM ON BUSINESS INTERACTION GROUP ON AZERBAIJAN IN DAVOS

Baku, January 30 (AzerTAc)President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has participated in a forum on Business Interaction Group on Azerbaijan in Davos.

The event attended by international business circles was opened by Stephen Kinnock,
Director of World Economic Forum`s Europe and Central Asia team. He expressed
satisfaction with President Ilham Aliyev`s participation in the Forum.
Making a speech at the event, President Ilham Aliyev spoke of recent accomplishments
achieved in his country.
He said successful economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan ensured dynamic
economic development in the country.
According to him, Azerbaijan has done a lot of work in the energy sector, and that
the country transports its oil and gas recourses to Europe.
The Head of State underlined that favorable conditions were created for investors in
Azerbaijan. He added the country also participates in investment projects in foreign
countries.
The President pointed out that Azerbaijan`s economic policy aims to increasing
welfare of the country`s people.
He also spoke of problems hindering regional cooperation and security including
Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan as a result of which 20 percent of
Azerbaijani territories were occupied.
He also stressed Armenia does not honor documents of the United Nations and other
organizations.
President Ilham Aliyev also replied to questions on international energy projects,
prospects for transportation of Central Asian countries` natural resources to world
markets through the Caspian Sea and other issues.
Following the event, President Ilham Aliyev briefly chatted with the business
circles. They said they were curious about cooperation with Azerbaijan, making
investment in the country and participation in new projects.
