ADNIC expands international health coverage

Abu Dhabi, February 1, 2009 (WAM) - Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC), a leading Insurer in the region, has entered into a partnership with market leading international health insurance consultant and administrator Vanbreda International to launch "SHIFA," a new medical insurance product that provides high quality health services and considerably expanded coverage overseas.

"Our medical insurance product, SHIFA, provides three levels of comprehensive health insurance coverage that will offer our clients easy and affordable access to high quality health care whenever and wherever they need it," said ADNIC's General Manager Wagdi Hamdi.

Hamdi explained that SHIFA reaffirms ADNIC's strong track record and experience in local and international health insurance. The new plan provides customers with access to an extensive network of more than 10,000 medical service providers in the UAE, and Worldwide including USA and Canada. It also offers members the flexibility to consult a provider that is not part of the network.

In order to facilitate transactions for the card holder, ADNIC has established a direct payment system and preferential rate agreements with the providers so that payments are made directly to the Healthcare providers.

"This direct payment system is complemented by Vanbreda International's global medical provider network. Together, ADNIC and Vanbreda International provide SHIFA Card Holder a truly global access to healthcare", comments Wouter Reggers, Chief Operating Officer of Vanbreda International.

A robust client service infrastructure has been set up to enable members’ easy access to information and advice, said Hamdi. "Clients have access to a dedicated and specialised customer service team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They are contactable by phone, fax or e-mail for any query or advice, and in the customer's language of choice." Hamdi explained that a dedicated website will also be available for clients to review their coverage information, consult the extensive list of medical service providers, check how the direct payment service works and receive guidance on how to claim their expenses.

The introduction of SHIFA comes close on the heels of ADNIC's rebranding which reiterates the company's values of reliability and commitment to quality customer service.
