US Embassy To Close On Monday

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The United States Embassy here will be closed on Monday, Feb 20, in observance of Washington's Birthday. The embassy, in a statement Friday, said all embassy services, including visa and American passport and notary services, will resume operations on Tuesday, Feb 21. The embassy phone number for after-hours emergencies is 03-2168 5000. It said Washington's Birthday is observed on the third Monday of February in honour of George Washington, the first President of the United States. "This date is commonly called Presidents' Day and many groups honour the legacy of past presidents on this date," it added. -- BERNAMA
