YTF Sends 2nd Batch For Women's Leadership Programme In Japan

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 (Bernama) -- Five graduates from three public universities have been selected to participate in a one-year Tuanku Fauziah Foundation (YTF) Women's Leadership Programme at a university in Japan. The programme followed a strategic five-year cooperation between YTF and Josai International University (JIU). Three of the participants are from University of Malaya (UM), and one each, from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). They are Kelly Kastury Wong, 24, who has a degree in International Business from UniMAP and Nur Shafinas Kushairi, 24, who has a science degree(Biotechnology) from UM. The rest are Nurul Husna Yusof, 24, a civil engineering graduate from UM, Teh Yu Li, who has a TESL degree from UM, and Mageswary Sivanathan who has a technology degree (Environment) from UMT. Raja Perempuan of Perlis, Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Tengku Abdul Rashid presented scholarship offer letters to the five at a leading hotel here Friday night. Present were Ruler of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail, Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil who is also YTF chairman. YTF trustee Dr Ng Yen Yen said the five were the second batch to be sent to JIU in Tokyo, while the first group of five have been in Japan since April last year. -- BERNAMA
