Singaporean Minister of State visits Wahat Al Karama - Update

ABU DHABI, 21st February, 2017 (WAM) -- Singaporean Senior Minister of State for Defence and Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, visited Wahat Al Karama on Sunday. He is in the UAE to take part in the International Defense Exhibition and Conference, IDEX, 2017.
Dr. Osman was accompanied by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Director of The Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office, MFAO, at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, along with Samuel Tan Chi Tse, Singapore’s Ambassador to the UAE, and a delegation of high-ranking officials.
The visit began with a ceremony by a Guard of Honour after which Dr. Osman laid a wreath at the Memorial. The Minister of State then went on to visit the Pavilion of Honour and the Memorial Plaza, as Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun spoke about the components of the Pavilion that bear the names of the UAE’s heroes.
Dr. Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman signed the visitor guest-book, leaving a message of gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices of the UAE’s brave heroes.
Covering 46,000 square meters, Wahat Al Karama includes The Memorial, the Pavilion of Honour, and the Memorial Plaza. It is symbolically located between the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the General Headquarters of the UAE Armed Forces.
