US delegation lauds Bahrain's parliamentary experience

Manama, Feb. 22 (BNA): The Secretariat-General of the Council of Representatives has received a delegation from the US Congress staff, currently on a visit to the Kingdom. The delegation was met by MPs Isa Al-Kooheji, Jameela Al-Sammak and Nasser Al-Qasir. The delegation watched a presentation about the Council of Representatives, the parliamentary experience, the democratic process and the main parliamentary achievements regarding legislation, oversight, human rights and social partnership. The MPs answered the questions of the US delegation about the legislative process and the parliamentary tools. Members of the US delegation lauded the Kingdom's parliamentary experience, and the Representatives Council's efforts in the legislative and human rights fields, as well as communication with the citizens and social partnership. They also expressed admiration for the advanced administrative initiatives highlighted by the Secretariat-General regarding the new tri-lingual website, the Communication Centre with the citizens, the Bahrain Centre for Parliamentary Training and the Social Communication Committee.
