Vientiane meets number of investments
(KPL) The investment projects in the fiscal year of 2007-2008 reached the target plan of Government which had a total of 111 projects worth over 78 billion kip and US$147 million in Vientiane Capital, according to a meeting of Investment and Planning Division.
The meeting took place on 26 January, Vientiane attended by Deputy Vientiane Mayor Somvandy Nathavong, Head of Vientiane Personnel Department Bounthieng Khounsy, Head of Investment and Planning Division Poikham Hungbounyouang and other concerned officials.
At the meeting, Mr Poikham said that the investment projects reached 111 projects due to Vientiane policy on investment promotion and socio-economic development plan. The investment considered to reach the target of the government.
Out of total investment figure, 43 projects are foreign investment worth US$20.8 million, 35 projects are private investment worth 71 billion kip and US$11.6 million, and 33 projects of Vientiane investment worth 7.2 billion kip and US$3 million.
At the meeting, Deputy Vientiane Mayor Somvandy also praised and handed over the certificates of congratulations to the Vientiane Provincial Party members and conferred the second and third labour medals on officials who actively contributed to flood prevention last September.
