17 Teams To Participate In Borneo International Rugby Sevens

SANDAKAN (Sabah, Malaysia) Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Seventeen teams representing clubs and countries have confirmed participation in the Borneo International Rugby Sevens from March 18-19 at Eagles Rugby Club field at Bandar Utama IJM, here. Organising chairman, and Sabah Rugby Union president Velayuthan Tan said the tournament was among the most prestigious in the country and is divided into the men's and women's categories. Eleven teams which had confirmed participation in the men's category were NZ Borneo Eagles, Sabah Eagles, Can Do Generation Rugby Club of Fiji, Alabang Eagles (Philippines), Tribe 7s (Australia), Cobra, Dinowin KL Bandaraya Sports Club and the national teams of Malaysia, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and Singapore. The women's category is participated by the Sabah Eagles, Alabang Eagles (Philippines) and the national teams of Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore dan Thailand. The tournament offers prizes totalling US$26,000 (RM115,440). --BERNAMA
