UAE discusses economic cooperation with Hungary, Bangladesh
Sharjah, Feb 3, 2009 (WAM) - The board chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Ahmed Mohammed Al Midfa, received at his office here Monday, Hungarian Ambassador, Yanuc Gunti. They discussed positive developments in UAE-Hungary economic ties and the role of the private sector, the SCCI and the Hungarian Embassy in boosting those ties.
The two sides stressed the need to increase the level of participation in economic events in both countries. Al-Midfa outlined a number of incentives for Hungarian business institutions and persons interested in participating in exhibitions at the Sharjah Expo Centre.
Yanuc, for his part, pointed out that Hungary and Slovenia boast of the best living condition in Eastern Europe. He said the private sector accounts for about 80% of Hungary's GDP, adding that his country, since it adopted an open economy policy in 1989, had been attracting about one third of total foreign investment in Central Europe, which is about US$23 billion.
Al-Midfa also received the Ambassador of Bangladesh, Mohammed Nuzmulqawnaian, who visited him at the SCCI premises.
They discussed relations of cooperation between the SCCI and the embassy and ways to surmount obstacles for businessmen and investors from the two countries.
The Ambassador said his country's political leadership was highly interested in attracting more UAE capitals and businessmen for joint venture and increased trade exchange between the two countries.
