Russian top diplomat says trilateral economic cooperation between Moscow, Baku, Tehran promising

MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Moscow and Baku believe that trilateral economic cooperation between Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran has a good prospect, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov said at a press conference following their talks. "We have already held a trilateral summit involving the presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran. We consider this format to be promising as far as enhancing our economic cooperation and boosting infrastructure go," Lavrov said. "We are interested in further developing the format." Azerbaijan’s top diplomat said, in turn, that "the Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran format is very important and interesting from the economic point of view," the North-South Transport Corridor project being one of its pillars.
