BANGKOK, March 10 (TNA) - Thailand's local lifestyle tourism destinations are now promoted at the ITB Berlin 2017, a world most leading travel trade show being held during March 8-12, to attract more quality international tourists to experience the Thai ways of life. Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul joined the ITB Berlin 2017 on Friday to launch a national tourism program, themed “The Link”, at Thailand’s booth, aimed to attract international tourists to travel to the country's local lifestyle tourist destinations. Under the new tourism campaign, 10 Thai provinces are matched with 10 travel agencies in 10 countries, where Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) offices are located to promote the new Thai tourism mode on a sustainable basis. The new tourism program, launched as part of the Thai government's Tourism 4.0 policy, is focused on inviting international tourists to see various and unique local Thai cultures and lifestyles. On the occasion, the minister also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between TAT and the Lufthansa City Center (LCC), a Germany-based travel agency chain with its 650 networks in 80 countries worldwide, on jointly promoting Thailand’s new tourism activities and sites through LCC campaigns. Besides, the miniser witnessed the signing of an agreement between three Thai Andaman coastal provinces of Phuket, Phang-nga and Krabi to jointly promote local tourism along the Thai Andaman coast, themed "Andaman:Thailand One for All", to draw in more quality international tourist arrivals in the Thai Kingdom.
