Most ASEAN Countries To Take Part In Pre-Sea Games Cycling Championship - MNCF
KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 (Bernama) -- Most of the ASEAN countries, including powerhouses Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines have confirmed their participation for the 2017 Pre-SEA Games Cycling Championships held here in May.
"When met at the Asian Cycling Congress (ACC) in Bahrain last week, almost all ASEAN countries confirmed their participation for the Pre-SEA Games.
Surprisingly, most of the countries wanted to know the actual route for the men's and women's Road Race mass start.
"Some suggested we use the actual route for the SEA Games," said Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) president Abu Samah Abd Wahab in a statement Monday.
However, Abu Samah had informed the representatives that only 55 percent of the route would be included in the Pre-SEA Games route.
He said the track events would be held at the Nilai Velodrome and the road race involves the road to Bandar Baru Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
Abu Samah who is also the ASEAN Cycling Association president said the contractor of the Nilai Velodrome had assured that the venue would be ready for the Pre-SEA Games.
