Malaysian Embassy In Jakarta Organises Media Nite

JAKARTA, March 23 (Bernama) -- For the first time, the Malaysian Embassy here will be organising a media night to appreciate and foster a closer relationship with Indonesian media practitioners.
Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Zahrain Mohamed Hashim said the event called Malaysia-Indonesia Media Nite would be held at Auditorium Adhiyana in Wisma Antara here on Friday.
He said more than 200 guests had been invited including Indonesia's Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara and top editors of Indonesian and Malaysian media.
"The event is being held to show appreciation to the Indonesian media which has been of great help in disseminating truthful and accurate information apart from as a platform to foster closer relations between Malaysian and Indonesian media practitioners," he said.
The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) is a sponsoring partner of the event and is offering the main prizes for the lucky draw that will be held in conjunction with it.
Bernama chairman Azman Ujang, Bernama general manager Zulkefli Salleh and Editor-in-Chief Zakaria Abdul Wahab are slated to attend.
Zahrain said the media night was also a launching celebration of 60 years of Malaysia-Indonesia diplomatic relations this year.
He said there would also be a screening on the 60 years of Malaysia-Indonesia ties during the event.
Themed "Malaysia Night" it will be enlivened with performances by a cultural troupe specially brought in from Perak by Tourism Malaysia in Jakarta while Indonesian Media Personality awards will be bestowed on two senior journalists who helped strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Also popular Indonesian singer Datuk Rossa is scheduled to attend to receive a Global Leadership award from an international organisation.
