STATE OWNED ENTERPRISES MINISTRY TO AUDIT ASSETS SECURITY SERVICE

Jakarta, Feb 4 (ANTARA) - The state-owned enterprises ministry (BUMN) is to audit the security service which deals with the state owned enterprises important assets due to incidents including recent fire in one of Plumpang depot's tank.

"We will implement it in a number of vital enterprises for their contributions to the public," Sofyan Djalil, state-owned enterprises minister said here Wednesday.

Related to the plan the ministry office has summoned PT Superintending Company of Indonesia (Sucofindo), a state-owned enterprise which had experiences in inspection, supervision, assessment and testing.

Sucofindo had proposed officially the required security service audit system.

However the opportunity is opened for other companies to participate in.

"We welcome any parties which provide the same service. It is not particularly meant for Sucofindo," he said.

Djalil said the ministry has not decided yet which enterprises the audit system would be implemented to.

"We had not decided which enterprises to be included in but the plan should be carried out since some accidents had happened in a number of major enterprises," he said.

Recent fatal accidents were the fire in one of Plumpang depot tanks in North Jakarta and (BTN) building in Central Jakarta which caused disorder in the bank operational system.

The minister said a number of enterprises which had been assigned to audit their security system namely PT Pertamina (oil and gas), PLN (electricity), and companies managing fertilizer and plantation.
