Malaysia Bags Three ASF Performance Awards For 2016

KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysia claimed three awards in the Asian Squash Federation (ASF) Performance Awards 2016. The awards will be presented at the 19th Asian Individual Championships 2017, scheduled from April 26-30, in Chennai, India. According to the Squash Racquet Association of Malaysia (SRAM), budding national players Ng Eain Yow and S.Sivasangari were named as recipients of the Hassan Musa award-Outstanding Performance of the Year (Junior). Junior coach Ong Beng Hee was selected as the Junior Coach of the year. "We are indeed pleased and proud with the achievement of our players and coach. We wish to congratulate them and hope they can bring more glory to the country. "We also look forward to awards being won by all the other players and coaches in the future. Congratulations to the coaching team of SRAM," said SRAM director, Maj (R) S. Maniam in a statement on Monday. The ASF Performance Awards 2016 received 17 nominations from five countries for seven categories and 13 nominations from seven countries for four categories of the ASF Coaches Award. -- BERNAMA
