Malaysian Muslims Urged To Set Aside Differences To Develop Quranic Culture

MELAKA (Malaysia), April 4 (Bernama) -- Muslims in Malaysia have been urged to set aside all differences, especially in political views, in order to develop a Quranic culture together. In making that call, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the Quranic culture, which is based on the Quran, could lead to the development of Quranic mindset which in turn would shape a person's personality as stated in the Quran. "Our leadership, our ulama, must teach the ummah to develop the Quranic culture. "Guided by the Quran, our nation will be safe, and InsyaAllah, the Quranic society will lead to a peaceful country," he said in his speech at the opening of the National Al-Quran Recital and Memorisation Assembly 1438H/2017 at the Dewan Seri Negeri, Ayer Keroh on Monday. Also present were Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom and Melaka Chief Minister Idris Haron. Ahmad Zahid said Muslims in general, especially in Malaysia, should truly understand the Quran and not just reading the translation. He said Muslims must learn its meanings and observe it as a guidance in their daily lives. "The Quran is a guide for all mankind with its hidden meanings which must be properly understood. We have to make it the basis of our vision and our way forward," he added. -- BERNAMA
