Malaysia Condemns Launch Of Ballistic Missile By North Korea

KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 (Bernama) -- Malaysia condemns the launch of a medium-range ballistic missile by North Korea, Wednesday. Foreign Ministry in a statement here Wednesday said Malaysia regretted such an action which demonstrated the DPRK's complete disregard for the peace and security of the Korean Peninsula and the world in general. "Malaysia urges the DPRK to end all ballistic missile launches and to comply with all United Nations Security Council resolutions concerning the North Korea," said the statement. Earlier Wednesday, North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the East Sea, just two days ahead of summit talks between US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported. "North Korea fired a ballistic missile into the East Sea from a site in the vicinity of Sinpo, South Hamgyong Province, at 6.42 am," the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said in a statement. The projectile flew about 60 kilometres, and South Korea and the US are analysing additional information, according to international media report. -- BERNAMA
