Families Of Two Malaysians In Detention Will Fly To Indonesia Tuesday

KUALA LANGAT (Selangor, Malaysia) April 11 (Bernama) -- Families of two Malaysians detained in Indonesia will fly to that country Tuesday to get clarification on their arrest.
The Malaysian Embassy in Indonesia has confirmed that two Malaysians reported "missing" in Jakarta since March 30, were currently in police custody.
They are despatch rider Mohamad Shafa Ahmad, 29, and Kamarol Ariffin Mohamad Darus, 27, a factory technician.
Kamarol Ariffin's mother, Hamida Kordi, 65, said family members of the two men would be in Jakarta tomorrow (Tuesday) to obtain information on the matter.
"I did not know about my son (being arrested), the police did not inform me anything. Family members of both men will be there (Jakarta) tomorrow to get clarification," she told reporters when met at the family residence here Monday.
Bernama reported that Kamarol Arifin (right) and his friend, Mohamad Shafa (left), reported missing since March 30, were under police detention to assist investigations into a drug-related case.
The duo were nabbed by Indonesian authorities at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport after police found several pills believed to be synthetic drugs during a body check.
This was confirmed by Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Zahrain Mohamed Hashim who said both were in police custody.
He said the two Malaysians were located after Royal Malaysia Police and the immigration attaché at the Malaysian Embassy conducted inquiries on their "disappearance".
They were reported missing by their families.
The duo disappeared after arriving in Jakarta by AirAsia flight on March 29 at 2pm from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (Klia2).
