Indochina Bank opens today
(KPL) The Indochina Bank opens officially this day, after one year was spent times for construction.
Before opening today, it opened trial service one month ago and there were more than 3,000 customers already opened their account in to Indochina Bank however Indochina Bank expects that at least 10,000 customers will come to open their account this year.
Indochina Bank is one of private banks that owned by Republic of Korean investors in Laos. It invested more than US$ 5 million to build Indochina Bank’s building that located at the centre of Vientiane Capital in Nongbon village, Xaysettha District. This Indochina Bank started the construction work in May 2008 and completed at the end of this year.
Indochina Bank disclosed yesterday that it would open officially at the beginning of 2009, after preparing the opening ceremony finished. However now it permits customers are able to deposit their money.
Indochina Bank said that it would offer different interest rates for customers, for example customers who want to deposit their money on Saving Account, as depositor will get interest rate of 5% for Lao kip meanwhile customers who want to deposit their monthly money they can get more interest rate.
Indochina Bank is part of KOLAO Group Company’s efforts to promote the mining, investment, financial, tourism and trade sectors in Laos as it aimed to mobilize and provide the financial sources for business units.
KOLAO Group Company dominated more that 4 businesses in Laos such as selling the vehicles, electric equipment, the Agricultural Development Project and Bank.
Now KOLAO Group Company has invested more than US$ 30 million to plant the jastropha in Savannakhet and Khammun provinces and also build the jastropha factory however some Lao people have not yet understood clearly about this.
