Malaysia's National Velodrome World Class - Azizulhasni
NILAI (Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia), April 21 (Bernama) -- World keirin champion, Mohd Azizulhasni Awang regards the US$18.21 million (RM80 million) National Velodrome here as among the best in the world.
Mohd Azizulhasni, was the first cyclist to have the chance to test the track at velodrome, which is still in the final stage of construction and will be used in the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games and Para ASEAN Games, in August and September respectively.
He spent about 30 minutes testing the track and was also joined by cyclists from the ‘Kita Juara’ (We’re Champion’) Programme on Thursday evening.
“The track is very good and smooth despite the dust as we all know the velodrome is still under construction. For me, the track is quite fast, and the other racers also agree with me.
“Overall, we have the best track in the world, such as the track in Hong Kong. Tests at corners were also good, everything is very good,” he told reporters after testing the track at the National Velodrome on Thursday.
