KASHMIR SOLIDARITY DAY OBSERVED IN MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- Like in other parts of the world, 'Kashmir
Solidarity Day' is also observed in Malaysia to mark the struggle of Kashmiris
for their right to self-determination and to remember the sacrifices of those
who had laid their lives for the cause.

The Pakistan High Commission in a statement Thursday said to express
solidarity with the people living in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a forum titled
"Kashmir A Human Dilemma" was organised by the Global Peace Mission (GPM) of
Malaysia in collaboration with the High Commission at a hotel, here, Thursday.

According to the statement, the High Commissioner, Lt Gen (Rtd) Tahir Mahmud
Qazi said Pakistan had always extended its moral, political and diplomatic
support for a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance
with the relevant UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiris.

"However, the world community should play an active role in supporting
people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir to attain their inalienable right to
self-determination," he said.
