PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV ACCEPTS CREDENTIALS OF NIGERIAN AMBASSADOR



Baku, February 6 (AzerTAc). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today has accepted
credentials of newly appointed ambassador of Nigeria Abubakar Chika.

During the talk, the diplomat conveyed Nigerian President Umaru Yar'Adua`s greetings
to the Head of State.
Chika noted Nigeria has a strategically important position in
the African continent. According to him, Nigeria is keen on cooperation with
Azerbaijan, the country with the fastest growing economy and rich culture, both on a
bilateral basis and within international organizations including the Organization of
the Islamic Conference. He assured Azerbaijani leader that he would try his best to
expand bilateral relations even more.
President Ilham Aliyev pointed out that there are good opportunities to develop
Nigeria-Azerbaijan relations in a variety of fields including the economic one.
Azerbaijani Leader asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings and best regards to
Nigerian counterpart.
