63 Illegal Immigrants Detained While Attempting To Sneak Out Of The Country

SHAH ALAM (Selangor, Malaysia) May 2 (Bernama) – Sixty-three Indonesian illegal immigrants, including an eight-month-old baby girl, were detained by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) about four nautical miles from West Port, Klang, early today while attempting to sneak out of the country. Selangor MMEA Deputy Director (Operation) Commander Mohd Iszuadi Mohamad Hassan said the illegal immigrants, who included the skipper and three crew in the boat, were detained at about 5 am. A MMEA boat which was on patrol in the area approached a boat which was acting in a suspicious and after checking , found all the 63 people on board with no valid travel documents, he said in a statement here Tuesday. He said the illegal immigrants, with the oldest aged 56, included 46 men. They were now detained at the agency’s detention depot in Port Klang for further investigation, he added. -- BERNAMA
