Bernama, BNA Boost Cooperation

PUTRAJAYA, May 2 (Bernama) -- Communications and Multimedia Minister Dr Salleh Said Keruak Tuesday received a courtesy call from Bahrain Communications Minister Ali Mohammed Al Rumaihi at his office here. The meeting which lasted 30 minutes, among others, discussed cooperation between the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) and Bahrain News Agency (BNA). Salleh said he and Ali agreed that the two agencies enhance cooperation that has existed since 2014, especially in the field of broadcasting, exchange of documentaries and journalists exchange. He also warmly welcomed the delegation from BNA to the country, which would see future cooperation between the agency with Bernama being further boosted. Bernama and BNA have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in conjunction with the 37th executive board meeting of the Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) in Bahrain in June 2014 in the field of news exchange. Ali is among the Bahrain Cabinet ministers participating in the delegation of Bahrain Ruler, King Hamad Isa Al Khalifa who is currently on a state visit to Malaysia from April 30 until Wednesday. The visit is at the invitation of Malaysia’s Kingt, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V and the first by Bahrain’s head of state since both countries established diplomatic relations in 1974. -- BERNAMA
